The Evian Championship will be played more than 54 openings in three days after Thursday's initial round was wiped out in view of high breezes and overwhelming precipitation.
Play at Evian-Les-Bains, in France, was ceased at around 09:00 BST and relinquished for the day at 13:45.
American Jessica Korda, who had played eight openings, was a joint pioneer with world number one Ryu So-Yeon, who was two under standard after five gaps.
Play will begin without any preparation on Friday in the LPGA's last major of the year.
"We have settled on the choice to scrap today and begin once again tomorrow [Friday]," said LPGA chief Mike Whan.
"A few players won't care for it, however, I'll take the brunt of that. We have endeavored to begin again today, yet everything is wet to the point that we were stressed over security."
The tee times for Friday and Saturday will be the same as those from Thursday and Friday, with the cut made after Saturday's round.
Whan included: "On the off chance that we kept to 72 gaps, at that point we are taking a gander at holding off on completing until Monday or Tuesday, and that is bad for anyone."
